Take Hope (Not Bullies) Back To School

Everyone loves Back to School; new teachers, new books and new school supplies! It’s a season of excitement and hope for a new year.

At the Florida Citizens’ Alliance we want you to take Hope back to school, but don’t take a bully.

Sadly, bullying happens and every incidence of bullying matters. It matters to the family of every student, it matters to us and thankfully it matters to the State of Florida.

Florida law recognizes that no student should suffer from bullying!

Get help for your student by immediately reporting the incident to the principal. Remember any incidence of battery, harassment, hazing, bullying, kidnapping, physical attack, robbery, sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual battery, threat or intimidation, or fighting at school, at a school sponsored activity, riding on the school bus or waiting at the bus stop should be reported right away. No student should suffer from bullying!

Once you report the incident, it becomes the school’s responsibility to solve the problem to your satisfaction. That’s a key so don’t miss it. The school needs to come up with a solution that satisfies your concerns. At the same time, the school should notify you of your Hope Scholarship options. Then you decide what is best for your student: the solution the school supplies or a Hope Scholarship.

The school will likely investigate the incident, but your student’s eligibility for a Hope  Scholarship is absolute and does not depend on the outcome of any investigation.

So take Hope back to school. No bullies allowed!
